Completed for the Sun Ra Centennial Celebration at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. This was a fun piece to make and exposed me to the well-established jazz musician Sun-Ra. Every now and then I enjoying making works that don’t necessarily fit with my visual subject matter and this piece really allowed me to play and experiment with materials and formed the basis for how I would apply values and color in the future.
