The word demon references an entity that almost everyone can understand as evil, or universally disliked. So when we relate this concept to a person, this individual is unanimously shunned by all however shallow the reason, hence the term “demonize.” People who have been subjected to this rejection may not always necessarily deserve the neglect. Just as the mere mention word “demon” evokes so many preconceived notions within certain cultures, a person’s reputation, or falsehoods about such, can also bring about immediate dismissal of a person within their community, stunting their ability to flourish in all aspects of life. This work represents those individuals who feel alone, demonized by their respective community, taking back their life, reputation, and rising to a new plateau however hard the crawl. A community cast out from the community.
